Jet Airways (9W) is India's leading domestic and International airline. They are a premium airlines and also own low cost JetLite. Jet Airways Konnect is now offering semi business class cabin called Jet Konnect Select to provide luxury travel on economical fares. Jet Airways Konnect is economy no frill airlines service by Jet Airways. “Konnect Select” will start on 26th April on selected routes.

The ‘Jet Konnect Select’ will feature wider and more comfortable seats to Jet Airways (Business Class) seats with a 40 inch seat pitch, in a front cabin separated from the economy cabin by a divider and offering enhanced privacy on Jet Airways Konnect Boeing 737 flights. There will be 8 seats in every Konnect Select flights for business class and there might be more seats in future. It is believed that this service will be highly effective as the services would also include complementary in-flight reading material, a welcome drink, and complimentary hot meals on-board. ‘Jet Konnect Select’ will offer guests lounge access, priority check-in at dedicated counters, as well as priority baggage tagging and baggage allowances + host of other benefits.

According to Sudheer Raghavan, CCO, Jet Airways, “Jet Airways has always been proactive in responding to market demands and has demonstrated a flexible approach in devising products and services to meet consumer needs. With its low-fare, high-quality all-economy product, Jet Airways Konnect has been a resounding success with all our guests. However, as domestic air travel continues to rise, and governmental and corporate travel restrictions are relaxed, there has been increasing customer demand for a superior in-flight product with more benefits and privileges than, our current all-economy Jet Airways Konnect product”.

A business class one-way ticket from New Delhi to Mumbai on ‘Jet Airways Konnect’, the airline’s economy service, would cost Rs. 12,000 all inclusive, compared to Rs. 35,371 charged by the full service carrier. This will the same Jet airways luxury travel experience to all its guests with less fares. Jet airways konnect hopes 8-10% growth in revenue after this launch.

It is interesing to see that Jet Airways is now having multiple airlines and services. They have premium airline (Jet Airways / Jetairwys (9W), they have low cost carrier (LCC) - JetLite (S2), which was called Air Sahara earlier, Jet Airways Konnect (9W) service launched last year (which is not a Low Cost Airline) and now Jet Konnect Select (9W) service which is a semi-business class service in Jet Airways Konnect airline only. It is importantto see also that no other airlines are doing it and once they start all such services, there would be many airlines in the country. Indian market is already flooded with domestic travel and it is supposed to increase more than three times as the Delhi Commonwealth Games are approaching.
